The AFL Grand Final is an Australian rules football match to determine the premiers for the Australian Football League (AFL) season. Played at the end of the finals series, the game has been held annually since 1898, except in 1924. Melbourne Cup Day is Australia’s best known horse racing event held on the first Tuesday of November every year. It is an annual public holiday in the state of Victoria. This event is popularly dubbed as “the race that stops the nation”.
